2017 November Camp Gieger Shoot Out

The Scouts of troop 257 would like to invite you to join us for a weekend at camp Geiger in St Joseph MO. The troop will be learning gun safety, and have an opportunity to shoot shotguns on a half course of the sporting clay range (cub scout parents are welcome to join us for the range fee), while attending cub scouts can make use of the BB range. Come meet the troop, camp, eat and shoot with us.

When:            November 17th – 19th 2017

What:             Sporting Clay five Station, walk through the woods, BB Gun Shoot (or 20 gauge shotgun shoot boy scouts and Adults)

Cost:              Webelos attend and shoot BB guns for free. There is no camping fee for adults, however for scouts or adults wishing to shoot: the cost is $25 for a 50 rounds half course (Additional shots might be available to be purchased the day of the shoot.)

Meet:              Atonement at 5:30pm Friday in Class B

Meals:            Friday: Sack dinner for ride to camp
                        Saturday: Hot breakfast by Patrol
Lunch: Troop Hot Dog Roast after shootout
Dinner: Hot dinner by Patrol
Sunday: Cold Breakfast


                                    Bring typical cool / cold weather camping equipment.

We will be shooting 20 gauge shotguns.  The camp has some guns; however, we need to provide 3 or 4 of our own guns.  The goal is to have 5 person teams, with one gun per team.  Adults attending can bring their own guns, just let Mr. Russell know.  If a scout wants to bring a gun without an adult in attendance, please make special arrangements with Mr. Russell.
