2017 STEM Activities

We support STEM activities as a secondary activity for scouts that are interested in participation.

Additional information is available in the STEM flier Spring 2017 STEM Projects

March 4th, 6-10 Movie Night

March 6, 27, April 3, 10, 24, 6:30 Electricity Merit Badge

STEM Summer Camp – See the flyer. This will be held at Naish, June 13-18. It is for Boy Scouts, and it is 5 overnights. The boys will work on a couple of the STEM awards and also have the chance to work on science-focused Merit Badges such as Robotics.
The council is working with local businesses like Garmin to come out to camp each day to work with the boys. They are also planning a couple Field Trips from camp to see Technology in action.
The Cost is $250 per scout. Parents do not need to attend camp, but it would also be $250 per adult. If you’re interested in going and would like to work on staff, please let me know and I will get your contact information to the camp coordinator.
We have about 6 boys from our Troop who have already expressed an interest.  The council would like us to register as a group, so if your son would like to attend, please let me know and I’ll work out the details. There is a limited number of spots, so let’s have a deadline of March 15th for registering.  We can add more later, if there is room.
Going to Bartle in July should be first priority, but for the science-minded scouts, they would enjoy this camp, too.
